drug delivery

I had the pleasure to create a series of small animated editorial pieces for nature outlook. The features discuss various research on how drugs are delivered within the human body. For the lead animation we went all in on gamification and created a little scene reminiscent of a racing video game. The first GIF I created accompanies an article on how active agents can cross the blood-brain barrier; one method involves "smuggling" them inside specialized nanoproteins. The second GIF illustrates research into using bacteria to transport drugs to tumors, as these microorganisms thrive particularly well in the tumor environment (unfortunately, this concept has a PR problem).
